Mr. Selective Hearing

Picture found on Google Images
Poem by me

Listen Hard
to hear the drips
of the blood
gushing out my heart
barbed-wire pierced
once protected now torn
pulled out with one hand
veins left empty vessels
blood pouring, no beating

Listen Hard
to hear my cries
sobs, and wails of agony
tears so dark
from black mascara
from dark recesses of my soul
run down my face
plain as day
screams so deep
my lungs are crushed
i can't breathe

Listen Hard
to hear nothing
because to you
I was never here
Mr. selective hearing

Feed By M.T. Anderson Book Review

Spending time partying on the moon and riding around in his "upcar," Titus is an average teen of the future, complete with a computer chip implant -- the "Feed" -- that lets corporate marketers and government agencies broadcast directly into his brain. Then Titus meets Violet, and an anti-Feed hacker shuts down their Feeds for a short time; but when Violet's Feed is seriously damaged, she begins spouting some radical ideas.

~Haunted Rose's Review~
I felt that an overwhelming amount of paranormal would ruin my reading habits so I chose a futuristic read by M.T. Anderson. I read his book Thirsty awhile ago and I have to say I hated it. It was about vampires and it had a crappy ending. I would have given that book only 1 Haunted Rose but I'm reviewing Feed not Thirsty so anyway I picked this book of my library's shelf and I thought wow this sounds pretty good. I started the book and I got lost straight away. I couldn't understand half the stuff Titus was saying or what it meant. Don't get me wrong the idea behind the story was genius. A world in the future with upcars, moon trips, computers in our brains and who knows what else captured my attention. The reason this book annoyed me so much was that It was hard to keep up and the story left me hanging. The ending made me want to throw the book at the wall. I wish it would have had more adventure, more of something other than just love gone awry because of this new invention. Feed did get me laughing at a few parts and people stared as I laughed in the middle of a library but the librarian winked so I figured it was ok. If you are more into the futuristic books try this one although I don't recammend this book to people who read paranormal because then its just a downer.
I give it 2 out of 5 Haunted Roses
